Today’s post has been postponed until tomorrow as I have 15 minutes to write it and I’m pretty tired. We were out at some friends tonight and I will do a double post tomorrow to make up for it 🙂 night folks.
Once again I want to apologize for missing last night’s post. I was out with friends and didn’t think to do a post during the day to make up for it. On with the story… working on Avarice, it’s entirely possible that this might go over the ‘alloted’ week hehe.
Exactly seven days later, a knock at the door broke Susannah out of her reverie as she studied the contract before her. Nervously, she stood up and went and answered the door, only to be shocked by the sight of a slight red haired blue eyed woman, a smile on her face, instead of the imp.
“Hello! I’m Aislin. May I come in?” She smiled brightly at Susannah and Susannah nodded, moving out of the way to let the other woman in. “Thank you so much! I’m here on behalf of The Banker.” Susannah shut the door and looked at the new woman. Never had Susannah considered herself interested in the fairer sex, but Aislin was tempting.
Aislin, obviously noting the way Susannah was looking at her, blushed. “Oh! Sorry!” she stated, and her allure dimmed somewhat. “I’m a half-succubus, and sometimes I don’t know how to control myself. I just finished feeding.” She smiled apologetically.
“Half..succubus? How is that even possible?” Susannah asked.
“Long story, my momma fell in love with a human which isn’t even supposed to be possible but somehow I was born, and here I am! Grandmama Lillith loves me though, and she’s been squabbling with Asmodeus for the past couple of years to let me come visit her in Hell. But that’s enough about me! I’m here because The Banker asked me to do him a favour.” Aislin smoothed her skirt down and sighed. “I couldn’t refuse. Anyways, if you sign his contract, he thinks you’ll need someone to guide you through all the forces of Hell that you’ll be encountering.” She smiled slightly. “He’s asked me to help you with that.”
“The forces of Hell? A guide? It doesn’t say anything like that in the contract!” Susannah stated, narrowing her eyes. She had gone over the contract several times.
“It says “And the recipient of all that she desires will be given tasks and duties to undertake while still alive on the mortal plane. She will be given any help deemed necessary by the giver.” Aislin recited. “Look, it boils down to this. You’re going to become rich and famous, honey. The Banker needs you to have that fame and riches to help him start corrupting more souls. The more souls he corrupts, the more souls he’s able to get his claws into, and the better both The Banker and Mammon look.” Aislin shrugged. “I’m going to be right by your side if you decide to do all this, making sure you don’t make any mistakes or if you do, that we can fix them.”
“I want to speak to Mr Banker if you don’t mind.” Susannah stated stiffly.
Aislin giggled. “Oh, that’s cute, calling him Mr Banker! I’ll have to do that too.” Aislin pointed at the contract. “He’ll be here shortly with any questions you have. He wanted to give us some girl time to get to know each other.” Aislin shrugged and smiled slightly. “I can call him now for you if you want, as I don’t think the girl time will be happening.”
Susannah shook her head. “No, no it won’t. Please call him.”
“Of course.” Aislin reached into her bag and pulled out her phone. She dialled a few numbers and then a minute later, in a puff of sulphuric smoke, The Banker appeared.
