I interrupt this weekly scheduled post of Gluttony to bring you an idea that’s been pestering me since my lunch break.
Walking among the throng of humans, I resist the urge to sneer at them, and I resist the urge to scratch at my shoulder blades. My wings are threatening to come out. It’s been much too long since I’ve feasted, and I find myself eyeing off several of the men I pass as potential candidates as ‘meals’. My little fangs have already made their appearance, and I knew without a doubt I that I would need to hunt tonight.
Gritting my teeth, and wincing at the stab of little fangs upon my lower gums, I sighed. I’d go hunt now if I could, but unfortunately I had to get back to work, of all things.
For not the first time, I cursed my mother for not being human.
Shuffling through the crowds, I ignored the lingering looks most men and some women threw my way. The women didn’t interest me (I didn’t get nearly as much energy from them as I did the men!) and if I looked at some of the men, I’d probably lose my job, as I wouldn’t make it back.
Sighing in defeat, I entered the high rise building I worked in, and punched the elevator for the top floor. A part succubus working in accounting. Who would have thought?
Certainly not Grandmama Lilith. She really wants me to come ‘home’, but we’re not even sure I could survive in Hell, much less just visit.
I sighed again, and left the elevator, being careful to not look at the men I worked with. Office affairs were intriguing, but when I needed a fix like I did now, just to survive, it wouldn’t work.
My shoulderblades began to itch more. My wings wanted to break the skin and unfurl. Wouldn’t that be a sight? I smirked to myself, before willing the itchiness away. I was quickly losing control of myself, which meant one thing: I needed to get laid, and I needed to get laid TONIGHT.
He was no one, really. I left work and instead of heading home to the comfort of my quiet little apartment, I went to one of the local bars. Pausing in the restroom, I freshened my makeup and adjusted the girls. Then, inhaling, I let a little bit of my magic seep into the air around me. While I was good looking enough I didn’t need this, it would help me once I locked on my target. Exiting, I made my way to the bar and asked for a glass of bubbly. Posing against the bar while the bartender poured, I scoped out the locals. Most were businessmen having chats with their partners, prospective business associates and enemies. There were a few who were sitting alone, and it was a rather distinguished gentleman that I decided made the perfect target for my appetizer. With as hungry as I was feeling, I would have to hunt more than once tonight.
“Excuse me.” I murmured, passing him, pressing against him just enough to let my aura bleed into his a bit. His was a gorgeous purple, pulsing with light. Even though he was older, he still had a lot of energy. Yummy.
“So sorry miss!” he said, and I smiled coyly at him. I could almost read the thoughts in his head and the struggle as he tried to decide to press closer or move away. My magic won, however, and he pressed himself closer to me.
“I’m looking for someone.” I whispered to him, running my tongue lightly over my bottom lip. He watched the movement, fascinated, before looking down into my eyes.
“I think you’ve found him.” I smiled.
It was quick. It didn’t need to be hours long, really, for me to recharge. When I was this hungry, the quicker the better. Already the persistent itch around my shoulderblades had begun to abate, and I thought my fangs felt a bit less sharp. Humming softly to myself, I began to head home to prepare for the main course.
